It went very smooth. They showed up when they said and took care of the job in the time they said it would. Everyone including owner is very professional, polite and clean. Was very helpful with any questions I had and explained the new system thoroughly. He started job with NO down payment and did not collect payment until I was 100% satisfied. The Trane system has been a very good investment and has functioned perfectly in the time since it was installed. I have seen a dramatic decrease in the electric bill and the quality of air in the home has improved greatly.
I only wish that all contractors or service providers had the character and service that Reynolds does. I would highly recommend them to anyone and will ONLY use them in the future.  I would say the only reason I gave a B for price is because it is expensive, however you get what you pay for and it should be more like an A-. You won’t find a better A/C company.

Description of Work:

Removed old Rheem system and installed new Trane XL20i system with appropriate air handler system that communicates with the compressor.  This system allows complete control of temp and humidity in the house.

Member Comments:

I had an old Rheem system that was very energy wasteful and had seen its better days.  My monthly electric bill was in the high $200 to low $300 range. I had five Trane authorized dealers come out to quote a replacement system. The price difference between dealers was substantial.  I made sure that they all quoted the same equipment and labor.  Paul Reynold's company came in the middle of the pack but in his presentation Paul was direct and answered questions posed that other dealers could not.  The price difference from a Trane XL 16i to a 20 was $500.  I also opted for a whole house a/c filter as our ceilings were 14 feet and so I would not have to change the high point one ever again. This being highest the end of June 2013 and having a few months of hot weather, my electric bill has been no higher than $210.  I have just purchased another home and would not hesitate to change this existing system out with another Trane system when the time comes to renew this unit.

Description of Work:

We called the company to evaluate our A/C unit. We bought the house a year ago and did not know how good the unit was or how long we good expect it to last. Paul, the owner, came out and looked at our unit and then talked to us. Bottom line our unit was low end and thus not very efficient but could last a few more years. We had never had A/C and so ask Paul to help us decide what we needed to do. He was vey knowledgeable, honest and straight forward. He never tried to "sell" us but helped us understand what might better meet our needs. Based on our discussion, we ask Paul to give us an estimate. He emailed it to us that night. After some discussion and a few questions, we set a date to do the work. Paul assured us they would finish in one day. Paul and his men came the next day, Paul explained what would happen and then he said he would check with us later. The men worked all day and then one of the men came and showed us how to work the thermostat. The men worked steadily and were very polite. They cleaned up and left everything in order. Paul brought our filters and checked out the job. The filters did not fit so Paul brought us replacement later that week. He arranged for the permit and the inspection. We expect to see Paul for our maintenance visit next year. We were very pleased with the whole process. We paid $ 5500 and believe we got our money's worth. Paul will continue to take care of all our A/C needs. He is trustworthy and dependable and a really nice guy. We recommend him highly.

Description of Work:

Replaced old air handler and AC unit with a new, efficient system.

Member Comments:

Our old AC system had been leaking Freon since we bought our house two years ago. We knew that replacing both the air handler and the outdoor AC unit with a more efficient and eco-friendly system was the way to go.
We called this company after reading the great reviews on Angie's List, and Paul Reynolds, the owner, came and provided a very competitive proposal. We were impressed with his thoroughness and his explanation of the options for our system.
After getting several proposals from other companies, we chose Reynolds.
His crew (Ian and Josh) arrived on time and were very professional. Over the two days the installation required, they explained everything they were doing and were extremely neat and thorough with the work they did.
We are very happy with the work they did, and we highly recommend Reynolds Home Comfort

The purpose of this letter is to (1) explain why we picked you and your company to handle our air conditioning needs and (2) to thank you and your workers Ian Allen and Josh Rawlings for the outstanding job they did.

I'm not trying to insinuate that our job was unique or complex, as it certainly was not to you.  To us the job presented a few complexities that were more than just substituting one air conditioner for another.  The addition of three cold air returns and the replacement of the 3/4" Freon copper tubing with 7/8" are all both pretty common.  However, the biggest obstacle we faced was insuring that the cubic feet per minute (CFM) airflow to the air handler was sufficient to insure that this 4 ton, 16 seer unit would run at its maximum efficiency.  I spoke to nine different air conditioning companies and you were the only one that told me what needed to be done to insure the CFM airflow was achieved.  You did not tell me how to cut corners (just clean out and reuse the old 3/4" copper tubing) by bypassing or ignoring the building air conditioning code.

I am not an air conditioning expert but you certainly impressed my wife and me with your knowledge (20 years' experience in the business) and your ability to walk us through (on your I-Pad) with what was required and how you would go about and successfully make all the conversions required of our new energy efficient air conditioner.  You followed everything from beginning to end and all warranties, service commitments and required instruction (Digital Thermostat) were completed and fully understood before you requested payment.

You are fortunate to have two outstanding individuals such as Ian Allen and Josh Rawlings working for you.  I guess I would best describe each of them as intelligent, serious work ethic, outgoing personalities, attentive to detail and meticulous and thorough in both their work and clean up.  They accomplished two very important things we are not used to experiencing.  One, they exceeded our expectations and two, they gave us MORE than we had contracted for or expected.....replacement of the small diameter copper tube returning Freon to the air compressor and hanging all the attic duct work instead of having it lay over existing rafters that have a tendency of hindering the air flow.

I obtained 5 different estimates to replace my failing 7 year old HVAC system. Paul Reynolds did the estimate and impressed me with his knowledge. The other estimates were made by salesmen that left me hesitant about them and/or their companies.
Reynolds Home Comfort was not the lowest estimate nor the highest for comparable systems.
I always try to support locally owned small business companies if they are competent and Reynolds Home Comfort is that. The two employees that did the installation were knowledgeable and efficient. They installed the system within the estimated time and cost.
The owner (Paul) came to check before the two employees arrived and also checked with me after the installation was complete. I would recommend this company to other potential clients.

Description of Work:

We first called Reynolds Home comfort inc in July when our AC started going out, they came out on a Saturday and replaced the fan, at that point we knew the system was going to need to be replaced. We limped through the rest of the summer on the old system as Paul Reynolds came out and gave us an estimate for 2 types of systems. We also had 2 other well reviewed companies come out to give estimates as well. Reynolds estimate was not only lower by almost $1000.00 it was for the much better duel system from Trane.
The decision was a definite no brainer, we had Reynolds come out and install and complete new Trane system with some duct work and the house has been cooler than it has ever been!

Member Comments:

I waited a few months to write a review to see how the system has been for us. So far, it has run great. Our electric bill has gone down by almost $100.00 a month during the hottest month (September) and has gone down to almost nothing now that it has been a little cooler. The crew that came out to install the system was very clean, worked hard to complete the job in under a day and left the garage just as they found it. They were very knowledgeable in the system they were installing and answered all of the questions that I had. The owner was there for most of the installation and called a few days after the install to be sure, everything was still running well, and to be sure, I did not have any new questions. I would definitely recommend Reynold's Home comfort to anyone

Excellent! From meeting with owner Paul Reynolds for a proposal; to working out details of the project; to scheduling work; to work being performed; to final inspection, follow-up and price.
Unlike other firms from which I received proposals, Paul did not try to sell me anything "Extra" or "unneeded". He answered all my questions, clearly, understandably, and completely. All work was performed as promised, as scheduled and to industry standards.
I have had years of property management and maintenance experience, and thus I know quality service and workmanship.
Paul and his employees could not have been professional or more pleasant to work with.
Anybody needing AC service or replacement will do no better than with Reynolds Home Comfort, for quality and cost.

Reynolds Air defines outstanding customer service! Mike came out on Thursday and tried to fix my unit, but there was just too much wrong. He knew were having my daughter's wedding here on Saturday, and when the quick fix to get us cooling ( and baking wedding cakes) didn't work,  Mike immediately got on the phone and arranged for a new unit to be installed the very next day. The installers were here on time, finished the job on time and cleaned up. Oh, I did I mention it was raining?  These guys worked all day in the rain!
Thank you Reynolds Air, you really did save the day!
